The Importance of Strategic Planning
Have you ever looked into your full refrigerator, but still didn’t know what to make for dinner? It’s not enough to have the ingredients; you need a meal plan and recipes to really get cookin’. IWCO not only has the ingredients, we also have a solid strategic planning process, an approved plan, and the instructions, project schedules, and experts aligned to execute the plan―step-by-step!
The Six Questions Defining our Strategic Plan
- The “Why”: First, IWCO defined our vision, mission, and values.
- The “What”, “Where”, and “How”: Next, we implemented our cyclical strategic planning process during which our team of industry experts defined client-focused objectives, project priorities, and key performance indicators that we continually monitor.
- The “Who”: We also defined owners and cross-functional teams to drive these initiatives to completion.
- The “When”: All of our strategic initiative teams meet regularly and stay organized with a project schedule that highlights accountability and timelines.
With our plans and action-oriented teams in place, we also have a way to check and adjust our work as we go. In addition to regular project meetings, we have a monthly progress review meeting with our entire management team giving IWCO a built-in review, improvement, and learning cycle. If any of our initiatives involve risks or issues, we have an exceptional Continuous Improvement (CI) team that can lead Kaizens and implement other tactics to keep our strategy on track.
We can confidently say the entire IWCO organization is focused on the right priorities that fulfill our clients’ ongoing and new strategies for their direct marketing campaigns.
What’s on IWCO’s Strategic Plan this Year?
Simply put, we’ve taken our clients’ strategic marketing plans and made it our mission to provide a one-stop-shop for them. We’ve expanded the offerings of our Marketing and Creative Services (MCS) and Data Analytics teams, increased our production capacity and format offerings, and expanded our Mail-Gard® disaster recovery service.
